This Privacy Policy explains how Everything Awaken™ ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you visit everythingawaken.com or use Awaken Journal ("the Service"). We are committed to handling your data lawfully, fairly, and transparently, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable rules.
1. Who we are
Everything Awaken™ is a personal software project owned and operated by Tanureet Kaur Randhawa, Punjab, India. For any privacy question or request, contact us at [email protected].
2. What we collect
We only collect what we genuinely need:
- Beta signup email — when you join our beta waitlist, we store your email address (and the time you signed up) so we can notify you when Awaken Journal is ready.
- Account data — if you create an Awaken Journal account, we store your email and a securely hashed password.
- Content you create — your journal entries, tasks, and money notes. This is deeply personal, and we treat it that way (see Section 4).
- Basic technical data — a standard login/session cookie to keep you signed in, and minimal server logs (such as IP address) needed to run and secure the Service.
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
3. Why we collect it (purpose)
- To notify you about beta access and launch (email you gave us).
- To provide the Service — let you log in and use your journal, tasks, and money features.
- To keep the Service secure and working (technical logs).
We use your data only for these purposes — nothing else.
4. Where your data lives
Your account and journal data are stored on our own self-hosted server in India, under our direct control. Beta signup emails are stored in our own database on Cloudflare's infrastructure. We do not upload your personal content to Google, third-party analytics platforms, or advertising networks. Backups are kept privately and solely to protect against data loss.
5. Beta testing notice
Awaken Journal is currently in early beta. While we take reasonable care, this is pre-release software, and data may occasionally be lost, reset, or changed during development. Please do not rely on it as your only copy of important information during the beta period.
6. Cookies
We use a single essential session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
7. Sharing your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may disclose data only if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected. Beta emails are kept until you unsubscribe or launch communications end. Account and journal data are kept while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access — ask what personal data we hold about you.
- Correct — ask us to fix inaccurate data.
- Delete — ask us to erase your data (including unsubscribing from beta emails).
- Withdraw consent — at any time, for anything you consented to.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected] and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
10. Children
Awaken is designed to help everyone. If we become aware that a child's data has been provided in a way that requires a guardian's consent under applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to address it. Guardians may contact us to review or remove such data.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards — including password hashing, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access controls — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data with genuine care.
12. Changes to this policy
As Awaken grows, we may update this policy. We'll change the "last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll notify beta subscribers by email.
13. Contact
